Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change.
Online Platforms Reaction
Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Before the change, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
Shopper Stories
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said.
Service Background
The app has more than 100 million users, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options after backlash from users.
