An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
